You need to keep your thoughts off thinking that you’re getting fat because overwhelmed fat cells turn into hypochondriacs. Be warned, if you’re a MOM, there is a good chance you have a little MAN in your head creating a little distraction…….PING…. THUD, there goes that thought. When you’re in the driver’s seat – don’t phone
Don’t drink and drive !
Hopefully this is something that has been wired in to your brain……….. so your default to, NOT DRINKING AND DRIVING.
But where do you stand on cell phoning and driving Probably, you acknowledge it is not a good idea and all – it has the potential to be A LITTLE distracting. But you still may have done it.
NEWSFLASH ! Cellphoning and driving can be WAY MORE RISKY, than drinking and driving. Eish !
Researchers stuck twelve healthy volunteers behind the wheel and let them loose, on a simulated road, on two different occasions, a week apart.
On one occasion, the volunteers went on a pub crawl. On the other occasion, the volunteers were handed a mobile phone loaded with lots of air time and encouraged to CHAT. The system was set up……….. so from the get go, they were going HANDS FREE.
No surprises ………………….. when the volunteers consumed alcohol, the ability to stay on their side of the road diminished and breaking for trucks was delayed. But, here comes the KILLER – yakking on the phone, produced the same weaving and breaking delays. Even with the HANDS FREE kit. Surprised ? Read more here.
The researchers concluded that a “Deep and meaningful CHAT” looked much the same as a blood alcohol concentration of 0.5 g/litre. Eish !

Caffeine helps create sweet memories

Up until now – the fuss about caffeine has centred around caffeine’s ability to improve productivity.
But that cup of coffee, is not just getting those muscles buzzing, it also creates memories.

Could you think yourself fat ?
The cool people in magazines and on TV – are ALWAYS super skinny. And when you’re a mere mortal, i.e. perfectly normal, it is hard to attain this “level of perfection”.
Reality bites, Mother Nature is working on setting things up so that your body is robust enough to get the “baby making business” sorted. And for the record, this requires adequate levels of FAT.
So she provides you with some helpful curves…………
Despising THESE curves can lead to trouble…..
Most people assume, the trouble manifests as a waif like body, created through systematic starvation. For what it’s worth, Mother Nature’s response to this “SKINNY” situation, is to shut down the baby making machinery.
But for many – curve despising produces the opposite effect. It ironically adds layers of fat around the middle, ultimately obscuring those bountiful curves, this is the finding of a group of researchers from Norwegian University of Science and Technology. It seems teens fixated with the size of their curves, ultimately smooth them out, but more often than not, they achieve this outcome, by adding more padding.

I am sure it has happened to you…………. you have SO MUCH TO DO, doing it feels impossible. To manage the stress, maybe on occasion you’ve feigned sickness and taken a ME DAY. Don’t worry, I won’t tell.
But take heed, you need to give your fat cells a little time off, being asked to process large numbers of calories – day in and day out, takes its toll. Help out your fat cells, decrease their workload by keeping a check on those calories in ….. don’t wait until things go POSTAL.

Your little MAN, left you a calling card
Literally.
A little piece of genetic material, known as a microchimerism, is often left behind, as a small reminder that they were there, even if it was just for a very short time. Read more.
Are these calling cards good or bad ?
No one really knows for sure, but since there is nothing you can do about them, it is cool to think, the little lives that begin in your womb – care enough to leave a calling card for you.

Ping………..thud, that thought, just crashed
You’re busy counting something………. ticks, money, marbles, whatever. And then someone pops by to say “HOWZIT”. You’re toast…. you have to start counting from the very beginning. Eish !
But interuptions come in all shapes and sizes and short (innocent) ones are more disrupting than you think. This is what researchers discovered when they “tormented” 300 volunteers by constantly pinging, beeping and buzzing them, as they tried to complete an assigned. Read more…
The research team discovered, anything that lasted for 3 SECONDS, constituted a MAJOR brain interruption, which manifested as a thinking CRASH. Notifications on your smart phone last……………………….. you guessed it 3 seconds. Every ping causes a circuit break, because an additional circuit has been forced to come on line to manage the brief “interruption”. The circuit disturbance, causes a momentary wobble in the thought processes, your brain does recover. But the re-route takes time….. so errors happen
Remember short interruptions are still INTERUPTIONS.

Having a baby means you will need to budget for new shoes
Being pregnant is an expanding process.
Fortunately, when junior finally flies the coup, you stop looking like a beached whale. And with a little effort, you return to your former shape and size.
Well almost. Being pregnant will leave you with BIGGER FEET.Around 60 – 70 % of the women ended up with longer and wider feet.
The bit of the foot that was changing was the arch. Both arch height and arch rigidity decreased – the arch drop left the foot bigger. The difference ranged from 2 to 10 mm. Not enough to qualify you as BIG FOOT, but enough to make shoes no longer fit comfortably.

You will NEED new shoes to have HAPPY FEET, after junior arrival. This will not be a luxury item, it will be a genuine necessity.
So plan ahead…. budget for several pairs of “maternity” shoes
PS. Wait until after the birth to go shopping to ensure you get shoes that are perfect for your NEW foot structure.
